Birthday Diaries

Heylo everyone,
So I finally decided to do a post on my birthday. It was on 8th Aug( I know am late but, bleh!). I don't even feel like I have turned 21! Anyway talking about the day, it was spend in a very well relaxed manner during the day. In the evening my friends came over and then we went to a lounge for drinks and dinner. That;s that, nothing fancy. But that's how I like things to be :). The highlight of the day was my friend Michelle baked the best red velvet cake on this earth. Here are the pictures.

Body Shop haul

Hey guys!
Today's post is all about body shop. I recently visited 'The Body Shop' store  in palladium and indulged in a few products. This is what I bought

I decided to use them first then write a review.
So here it goes...

1) GINGER ANTI-DANDRUFF SHAMPOO

Dandruff is like a leech. It just never seems to get enough of you. I have tried all the possible treatments on planet earth and trust me after 3 months its back to square one. I even paid an exuberant price for the dandruff treatment at KAYA but all in vain.
Then I decided to give this a go. You might be thinking I am over exaggerating but trust me am not. This shampoo is like the perfect solution for m dandruff. I have been using it for 2 months now and the results are super.

Claims: Flake clearing, scalp sooting shampoo with ginger extract

Price: Rs 725/- for 400ml

Ratings: 9/10

2) SEAWEED DEEP CLEANSING FACE WASH

This face wash gives the best cooling effect on your face than most of the products I have tried. Seaweed is a different element in the day to day beauty products but it has proven to be good.

Claims: Refreshing gel, removes impurities , makeup , and excess oil.
 Skin type: Combination/oily skin

Price: Rs 495/- for 100 ml

Ratings: 8/10
It definitely lives up to the claim of removing the excess oil and make up.

3) ALOE VERA BODY SOAP

This is just another aloe vera soap though slightly over priced.

Price: Rs 95

Ratings: 7/10
The negative would be the early reduction of the soap than the usual time.

I also got a complimentary pouch from them for doing a purchase above a certain limit.

 Thats it for now.
Until next time,

ALDO

Hey guys!

Bags, bags, bags... don't we just love them. How many ever we own it will always be 'less is more'. So, anyway since Raksha Bandhan was today and my birthday (pssstt.... am turning 21) is coming up next week, my brother gave me this hugee ALDO bag as a gift. I sort off feel like a kid carrying those backpacks so I prefer using huge handbags. And plus I like bags with one single spacious compartment where I can just dump things in one place and not keep unzipping several compartment zips.I love the way it swallows my books easily It has just 3 private compartments. I like brands that offer sophisticated looks unlike ESBEDA which is like all blingy. My previous bag (coco blue Baggit) has been molested and raped in the train so he guessed I needed a new bag. I like bags with definite shapes. Shapeless bags look plain shabby. Have a look at the pictures

Black & White

Heylo people!
Don't we all agree that there is nothing more classic and vintage in this world than the combination of black and white? They both blend so well that you don't need anything else to add up to your outfit. So I wore this outfit to the Stayfree Indiblogger meet which was held in Trident (Mumbai). I really had no clue what to wear initially so I dig my black and white stripped skirt and wore it high waist on my formal white shirt. Added a thick black belt and tadaaa I got a great outfit. To go with the combination I carried my white Sworovski bag. Take a look at some of the pictures

CCD shot's

Heylo peole!
Today's post is not going to be anything related to fashion or style at all. It's just one of those vague thing's I come across in my daily course of life and happen to totally love and hence blog about it to let my lovely followers know.
Anyway, so my friend kept talking about these mango or chocolate shots (non alcoholic of course) which she had and never in my many visits to CCD have I ever seen or even heard about them. So I decided to check them out today and BAAM they are the like the best and the cutest little things of heaven. It is a small plastic shot sized glass filled with mango or chocolate. Plus they are so cheap. My personal favorite is mango. Here are a few snippets of them

This the mango shot. It has sweet cream and a rich mango pulp and a bit of mango jelly. It is only for Rs 20.

This is the chocolate shot. The top most layer has a bitter dark chocolate layer followed by a rich deep chocolate sweet cream in the middle and bits of brownie crumble. So yum! Again it for Rs20

The mango shot is much sweeter than the chocolate one. I would recommend have both that would be just Rs 40 with the additional Rs 10 tax, so that is a total of Rs 50 only. I mean it is totally worth it!
They come with plastic lids on top, so it is easily portable.
So, next time you are around CCD do try it out.

Till then until next time.

DIY : Cut Your Own bangs

Heylo people!

Today is DIY post. Well, I am a HUGE fan of bangs specially front ones. They gave you this edgy look. The best part is that they go well with almost every kind of hair right from curly to straight. Earlier on I used to visit a hair stylist cut them, but then since they grow fast the frequency of the trips had to be increased. So I decided to cut them up myself. So I looked up a few videos on youtube and this one is by far the best. Its really simple. Have a look!

Isn't it really simple?
Here are a few personal tips :

1) Use basic scissors with which you are comfortable.

2) Always seperate out the hair to be cut first and pin it. Then take the rest of the hair and tie it up in a bun.

3) Go for a long cut, then go on reducing.

Leopard Print

Heylo people!
Today's post is all about the beautiful, vivacious, enigmatic leopard print. Its simple yet one happens to look so elegant in it. Its a hit on the runways these days. Think about it, when you put on a leopard shrug and play with your hair a bit, add a dash of bright red lipstick, you do tend to assimilate mild wildness and carry that with sophistication. If you wear super high heeled leopard print pumps and enter a room, you sure will turn heads. Not only does it represent how bold you can get with dressing up, but it can also show how you can in cooperate this not-so-usual print in normal clothings.
So here are a few shots of leopard print apparel all made and designed by my super talented friend Shirin.

These are the shots of pretty Zainab wearing: Leopard print origami headgear

This is Neha wearing a Leopard print top

Anndd last but not the least the creator of all the apparel seen in the pictures is the great designer herself wearing one of her own creations, Miss Shirin Godhrawala owner of the brand 'Fashashi'.

Forgive the pose! She usually is a great poser :D. Her designs are really good, aren't they? So don't you guys think leopard print is such an easy and wearable print. Of course the cut and the material should be perfect or otherwise it would land up looking disastrous something like this.

If you wear something this I'll personally come home and shoot you *winks*

So anyway that's it folks!
Till then until next time!

Going red

Heylo people!

So today is going to be an outfit post. My friend recently celebrated her 21 st bday so we had this huge bash. The theme was headgear for girls and tie for the guys. I was out of stock for dresses so I did what I do the best, went shopping. I came upon this lovely red dress. It has gold on the borders giving it a nice ethnic look. So going with the outfit I chose my favorite neck piece which I picked up from Kala ghoda festival.
Now for the headgear I was in a fix, so I decided to wear a simple red flower (handmade). And tadaaa I had a nice outfit. It does not suit the bill of a typical cliche party outfit but I somehow loved it since it was so different. Here are a few snaps of my outfit and the party. I am not much of a makeup person so I chose to keep it simple.
Dress: Bandra, bangles: Vero moda, Neck pice : Kala ghoda, earrings : diamonds vintage

And here are some headgear's worn by other girls.

That's Neha and me!
Make up (on me): Foundation: Revlon, gold sparkles: miss clair, lip gloss: Avon nude, eyeliner :Lakme
Bday girl (center)
 The most yummiest cake ever!

This is a closer look at the neck piece. I bought this from an artisan who came from Hydrabad in kala ghoda festival. Its made in brass. I call it the alpha male of all my ethnic wear. The earrings tagged along with it

Head over to check out my some chunky neck pieces here

That's it for now.
Coming up in next post- Product review of Neutregena fairness cream
Until next time.

Get the best of ethnic wear....just a few clicks away!

Heylo people!

Today's post is a guest post review about this leading online shopping website for Indian ethnic wear, crafts , decor, accessories. So here it goes....
Author bio: Ankita Mehra is an engineering student and blogger. She loves to write about Fashion and Bollywood clothing trends, spend most of her time in searching and reading about web and technology related articles. She is working with leading ethnic wear online store http://indiaemporium.com/ as a freelancer fashion content writer.
Review:

Just a few years ago, shopping sprees meant the whole family putting on their best clothes, getting into the car, and setting off for hours, on a shop-to-shop escapade. While that was probably fun for the kids, it was a nuisance for adults, who had many better things to do, like may be watch a movie, or simply lounge on the couch watching TV all day long! Gratefully, with the advent of online shopping, we can finally reclaim our weekends, and be spared of waiting for forever outside try rooms, while our shopping companions try on dozens of clothes.
Online shopping can be quite an art, and there are some basic rules that you’ll need to master as a beginner. One of the biggest advantages that you get as an online shopper, is that of price comparison. Being liberated from the menace of bargaining, negotiating, and wondering if the next shop has the same thing at a cheaper price, you can finally shop in peace, with your choices neatly cascaded on a single window. Here are a few tips to save money while shopping online-

·         Subscribe to newsletters- It is a good idea to provide your email address to the websites that you love best, and keep a tab on their latest offers, discounts, and coupon codes through their newsletters.
·         Check out for websites with points on offer- Certain online shopping site allow you to accumulate points while you shop, and as these points get added up, you can redeem them for reasonable discounts.
·         Do not overlook shipping costs- What might appear to be an unbelievably priced item might end up being a lot more expensive when you add the shipping charges to it. Free shipping is always a plus for buyers, as it avoids rude shocks by the end of the deal.

Hoping you are now armed to get the best deals, there are a few other things that are worth considering as an online shopper. If for instance, you are on the lookout for ethnic Indian wear, India Emporium is a site that ticks on nearly everything that you could possibly want.
A relatively new website, it is experiencing a rapid rise in popularity, thanks to its amazing collection and terrific services. Right from sarees and lehengas to more basic outfits like salwar kameez suits and kurtis, it is a single stop for all things traditional. What’s more, you can even shop for jewelry and other accessories to complement each of your looks.
What I loved best about the website, was the fact that they offered customized tailoring for blouses and salwar kameez, which meant that when the order was delivered, it was ready-to-wear. This is an attractive feature to look out for, especially when shopping for ethnic wear online. I bought a lovely cotton salwar kameez suit, which fitted like a dream, and had no hidden costs. This lovely outfit has made it to my wish list and I can’t wait to place an order for it-
There must be a lot more terrific websites there, so just look out for the one that suits your needs best, and spread the word! India Emporium has been that website for me. I’d strongly recommend it to anyone with a love for Indian traditional wear.
Tell me which your favorites are in the comments section below!

Thats it for now!
Till then until next time,
Happy reading :)
